Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These terms govern any documentation project, revamp, or retainer engagement with Paperkraft ("we," "us," "our"), and your use of this website and the Docs Score tool (together, the "Services"). By booking a call, signing a proposal, or using the Services, you agree to these terms. Where a signed proposal, statement of work, or contract exists for a specific engagement, its terms take priority over this page wherever the two conflict.

1. What we provide

Paperkraft provides documentation services for software companies: information architecture, writing, design, and code samples tested against your live API, delivered as a new build, a revamp of existing docs, or ongoing retainer support after launch. The Docs Score tool is a separate, free diagnostic and is provided "as is" for informational purposes, not as a paid deliverable.

2. Engagement & scope

Every paid engagement is scoped individually, typically after a discovery call, and confirmed in writing (a proposal, statement of work, or email confirmation) before work begins. Pricing shown on this site, including the retainer plans, is indicative and subject to the specific scope agreed for your engagement. Changes to scope after work has started are handled as a change request and may affect timeline and fees.

3. Fees & payment

4. Your responsibilities

Timely delivery depends on you too. You agree to provide reasonably prompt access, information, and feedback we need to do the work, for example: product/API access for testing, answers to technical questions, and review of drafts within the timeframe agreed for your engagement. Delays on your side may shift the delivery timeline accordingly.

5. Intellectual property

Once an engagement is paid in full, you own the documentation content we deliver for you, the words, structure, and assets created specifically for your project. We retain ownership of our own pre-existing tools, templates, internal processes, and know-how used to create it, and may reuse those (not your content) on other engagements.

6. Confidentiality

We treat information you share with us, your product details, docs, and any credentials or repository access you grant, as confidential, and use it only to perform the agreed work. We're happy to sign your NDA before any access is shared or any confidential material changes hands, just ask on the first call. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data specifically.

7. Warranties & disclaimers

We aim for docs and code samples that are accurate and tested against your live API at the time of delivery, but your product changes after that point are outside our control unless you're on an active retainer covering updates. The Services and the Docs Score tool are otherwise provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except as expressly stated in a signed agreement for your engagement.

8. The Docs Score tool

The Docs Score is a free, automated diagnostic. To use it you give us an email address and some details about your documentation; we then fetch publicly reachable pages at the URL you submit, pass what we observed to a third-party AI model (Google Gemini) for scoring, show you the result, and email you a copy. By submitting the form you agree to receive that report by email, and you confirm you're entitled to submit the URL for analysis.

Two limits are worth stating plainly. First, the score is generated by an AI model from a limited automated crawl: it is directional, may be wrong or incomplete, and "not found" means our crawler didn't see something, not that it doesn't exist. Don't treat it as an audit, a certification, or advice to act on without your own review. Second, we only look at pages that are publicly accessible — we do not log in, bypass access controls, or read private repositories, analytics, or ticket data.

We fetch pages at a low rate for this one-off diagnostic. Don't use the tool to analyze documentation you have no right to submit, don't use it to load-test or disrupt anyone's site, and don't automate bulk submissions against it. We may rate-limit, decline, or withdraw access to the tool at any time. The report is provided for your own use; you're free to share it internally, and we may reference the fact that we scored a public documentation site, but we won't publish your submitted contact details.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Paperkraft's total liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement in the preceding three months, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost profits or lost data) arising from the Services.

10. Termination

Either party may end an ongoing engagement or retainer with 30 days' written notice (or the notice period agreed in your proposal, if different). Work completed up to the effective date of termination is payable. We'll hand over work in progress in a usable state on request.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or an engagement will first be attempted to be resolved informally between the parties.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. For an engagement already under a signed proposal or contract, the terms in that document control over any later change here.
